As soon as you release the cutefish into open water you should get the achievement. once the egg is hatched, go into the container and pick up the cutefish. If you have a bed, sleeping in it will automatically hatch the egg. drop the cutefish egg inside the container and simply wait for the egg to hatch. (You should have seen my face when I built my first Cyclops and realized. So far its been absolutely terrifying and spectacular at the same time. After you've gotten your egg and your alien containment build the container in a multipurpose room (it will take up the entire room) and put a hatch on the side of it so that you can enter it. Ive been trying to play a relatively spoiler free playthrough of the game so far in order to maintain the WOW and SPOOK factor of discovering new things in the ocean. Eggs will only hatch once placed inside of one and will not hatch in an aquarium. The big glass fish tank looking thing in the middle of the room? scan it you will need it. Speaking of the Degassi Grand Reef base, you had to pass the alien containment to get to the egg. The easiest one to get is the degassi grand reef egg simply because its just sitting on a table (granted so is the one in the alien science lab in the lost river but since you need the orange tablet you get FROM the degassi base, just go with this one). Fortunately it doesn't matter which one you get so long as you get one. I highly recommend saving this egg for last and ONLY if you REALLY want all 4 because the dunes is not only massive but is massive for a reason as 8 Reaper Leviathans reside here. There are 4 cutefish eggs in the game one in the Degassi Grand Reef sea base, one in the alien science lab in the lost river, one in the Grand Tree mushroom in the Northwest mushroom forest and the last (and possibly the riskiest one) in the meteor crash site in the dunes. As was observed in earth dolphins before their extinction, this creature seems to understand the concept of other minds, the prime indicator of true sentience, and attempts to communicate with a series of chirps and chirrups.Įvidence suggests the cuddlefish is capable of understanding and following simple commands, in addition to assessing the emotional state of individuals around it and responding in kind.*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** For this achievement you need to find, hatch and release a cutefish. We do know that the cuddlefish is a herbivore which displays highly social behavior in its interspecies interactions. It is also possible the cuddelfish has been genetically altered, or even imported to 4546B from another world. It is possible that environmental conditions have changed, forcing the species to the edge of extinction, and leaving its eggs in permanent stasis. In the absence of wild specimens little can be known for certain about the cuddlefish's lifecycle. If you save while hatching right now and leave the game the breeding Cuddlefish will disappear when you reload. Still no idea where the cuddlefish swam off to at a thouseand clicks, but at least maybe now others will know to be careful of mesmers with their cuddlefish. I had to collect two eggs and hatch them all in the same session without leaving. They don’t emmit any beacon for their location so I’m kinda scared of. Also, they dont despawn, and you can ask them to stay in a specific location. If you want them in item form for ansporation, you can leave them there for the time being. If you havent already discovered - the devs placed a handful of secret Cuddlefish eggs across the game. Apparently there has been a mesmer swimming a bit above the level of my base for awhile and the cuddlefish all of asudden was floating slowly upwards towards it. You can only pick them up once, from the alien containment. Strangely this species has not been encountered in the wild, and the scanned specimen had to be artificially hatched within an alien containment unit. In this video we learn how to hatch Cuddlefish eggs. A small, gray-colored herbivore, the cuddlefish displays high levels of intelligence, curiosity and attachment.
